Sitting here on my couch just thinking of how Satan moved about in the Bible. In the #beginning, the book of Genesis, Satan appeared to Eve as a serpent. That tells me several things and the main thing is that animals can communicate. Eve stood there and had an entire conversation with a serpent and not only did she talk to it....she #believed that she would be like God;......#MAJORNEWSFLASH..... SHE WAS ALREADY MADE IN HIS IMAGE. Now it does not say anywhere in the Word that God or Adam told Eve about the forbidden tree but it does say that God told Adam to not eat of this tree. Her husband who #knew what God had told him...#compromised by eating the fruit that his wife offered to him.
That was the beginning of Satan's influence on the Body of Christ. Now we are going to fast-forward to Jesus' encounter with Satan in Matthew 4:1. It says that Jesus was led into the wilderness by the #Spirit....the letter "S" is capital; not lower cased. So that means that the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. Verse 3 says, "And when the tempter (Satan) came to him, he said, #If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made to bread"....But Jesus' response was totally different than that of Eve. Jesus said in verse 4...."But He answered and said, "It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." Satan knew Jesus was #weak in the flesh because he had not eaten in 40 days, #but #Jesus #knew He was powerful in his spirit because he didn't fall for Satan's lies. He came back with the Word.
The enemy can disguise himself in many different forms. As a friend, a friend of a friend and even can rise up in those closest to us....family. It is necessary to operate with the spirit of discernment on a daily basis because it is also necessary to not believe every spirit. Be careful of the company you keep. I have been in situations where I was impressed with "Gifts", but Satan can't help but to slip up. If it barks like a dog....it's likely a dog. The best prayer that you and I can pray is that God open our spiritual eyes. We need to be able to see who is coming in to steal, kill and destroy. Be slow to go into relationship with people. PRAY AND WAIT IN EXPECTANCY for God to respond....He will!
