“It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”– Lamentations 3:22–23 (KJV)
---
There are moments in life where the weight of trials, our own mistakes, or the chaos around us feels overwhelming—as if we could be swallowed whole by the very things we’re walking through. But even in those moments, God’s mercy steps in and covers us.
The scripture reminds us that we are not consumed, not because of our own strength, goodness, or ability—but solely because of the Lord’s mercy. His compassion never runs out. His faithfulness never ends. Each new day, He gives us a fresh supply of grace to endure, overcome, and keep walking forward.
His mercy is not a one-time rescue—it’s a daily renewal.
Even when we fall short, when we feel unworthy, or when life hits hard, His mercy stands as a shield, preserving us, lifting us, and reminding us that He is not done with us.
Reflection Questions:
1. In what area of your life have you experienced God’s mercy recently?
2. How can you remind yourself daily that His compassion has already made room for your shortcomings?
3. Are you extending the same mercy to others that God extends to you?
Prayer:
Father, thank You that I am not consumed. Thank You for Your unending mercy and compassion. Even when life feels heavy or I feel unworthy, You meet me with grace. Help me to rest in Your faithfulness, and may I extend the same mercy to those around me. I trust You, and I thank You for new mercies today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
